YELLOW QUILL FIRST NATION – Rose Valley RCMP are asking the public for help in locating three male suspects in relation to a shooting and robbery on Yellow Quill First Nation.
The investigation determined a group of individuals approached two males walking on Yellow Quill First Nation on the evening of June 20. The group of individuals robbed the two males with a firearm. The firearm was discharged, injuring one of the males. The group of individuals fled the scene.
The incident was reported to Rose Valley RCMP on the evening of June 21. The injured male reported non-life-threatening injuries to police. He was treated in hospital.
Rose Valley RCMP and Yorkton RCMP Police Dog Services searched the area for the suspects but did not locate them.
As a result of the continued investigation, three adult males have been charged.
23-year-old Kynan Desjarlais, from Yellow Quill First Nation, has been charged with:
- two counts, robbery with firearm;
- one count, discharge firearm while being reckless;
- one count, discharge firearm with intent,;
- one count, assault with a weapon;
- one count, careless use of a firearm;
- one count, possession of a firearm when knowing possession unauthorized;
- one count, using firearm in commission of an offence;
- one count, carrying a concealed weapon;
- one count, possession of a restricted firearm;
- two counts, weapons possession contrary to order; and
- one count, pointing a firearm.
32-year-old Damon Nippi, from Yellow Quill First Nation, has been charged with:
- two counts, robbery with firearm; and
- one count, fail to comply with release order conditions.
29-year-old Rylance Quewezance, from Saskatoon, has been charged with one count, robbery with firearm.
A warrant has been issued for the arrest of all three suspects. Rose Valley RCMP are asking the public for help in locating them. The suspects are known to travel to the Saskatoon area.

- Hair colour and style: brown
Damon Nippi is described as:
- Height: 5’8”
- Weight: 154 lbs
- Eye colour: brown
- Hair colour and style: black
- Other descriptors: tattoos on both arms, tattoo on right side of neck, cross tattoo under left eye
Rylance Quewezance is described as:
- Height: 5’6”
- Weight: 149 lbs
- Eye colour: brown
- Hair colour and style: black
