MOOSE JAW — A Moose Jaw RCMP officer charged with break and enter and assault has pleaded guilty to a lesser offence of unlawfully in a dwelling house.
On June 11, Const. Steven Sharpen, 50, was given a 12-month conditional discharge and one year probation.
Sharpen was arrested on Oct. 29, 2025, and was charged with break and enter and assault. The charges stemmed from an incident that occurred on Jan. 13, 2025, when RCMP officers went to a home in the R.M. of Dufferin as part of an ongoing investigation.
According to police, Sharpen unlawfully entering the home and engaged in an altercation with a man inside. The man filed a complaint with the RCMP the following day. No physical injuries were reported.
Saskatchewan RCMP initiated an investigation into the complaint. The results of the investigation were sent to Crown for their assessment on Feb. 13.
