Update:
SOUTHERN SASKATCHEWAN — A severe thunderstorm warning for the Estevan and Weyburn areas has been lifted as the storm is moving towards the Manitoba border.
According to Environment Canada, at 10:26 p.m. on June 27, meteorologists were tracking a severe thunderstorm capable of producing damaging wind gusts, up to quarter-sized hail and very heavy rain.
The storm was on a line from Benson to Carnduff, and was moving northeast at 30 kilometres per hour.
Communities in six RMs are covered by the warning.
Another severe thunderstorm warning is in effect for communities in three RMs in southeast and south-central Saskatchewan.
The line of thunderstorms is from Truax south to Bengough moving slowly to the northeast.
Meanwhile, the tornado watch that was in effect for southeast Saskatchewan has been lifted, but the region is now under a severe thunderstorm watch that includes the cities of Regina and Moose Jaw, and communities in 97 RMs.
"Thunderstorms continue near a surface trough over southern Saskatchewan this evening," the warning said. "The risk of severe thunderstorms is expected to end near midnight."
A severe thunderstorm warning was issued earlier in the day in Regina and a number of surrounding communities. Another warning was issued for a large swath of south-central Saskatchewan.
