SASKATOON — Saskatoon police are investigating after two men were stabbed in separate incidents downtown on Saturday night, with investigators believing the same group of suspects is responsible for both attacks.
The first incident occurred on June 27 at approximately 9:40 p.m. Officers responded to a call for service for a report of a male who had been stabbed and bear sprayed in the 200 block of 23rd Street East.
Just 15 minutes later, at approximately 9:55 p.m., police were called to the 100 block of 2nd Avenue North for a report of an injured person. Call information indicated a male had been jumped and was injured.
Officers arrived on scene and located a 32-year-old man with what were believed to be non-life-threatening injuries consistent with a stabbing. He was taken to hospital for further medical care.
Officers learned a group of males had confronted the victim before an assault occurred.
