Update:
SASKATCHEWAN — A pair of heat warnings that cover much of the province are in effect, while the special weather statement issued July 8 continues in some areas.
One heat warning is for the cities of Moose Jaw and Regina, along with communities in 110 RMs, as Environment Canada says humidex values reaching 45 C are expected.
The warning states a multi-day heat event is expected beginning July 10 and lasting through the weekend. Temperatures exceeding 32 C are expected for the next few days, with July 11 and 12 being particularly hot and muggy. Temperatures will reach the mid to high 30s C those days, with humidex values as high as the mid 40s C. Overnight low temperatures will remain high as well, Environment Canada said, not dropping below 16 C.
The agency added daytime highs will drop to the high 20s C on July 14.
The other warning is for the city of Saskatoon and communities in 99 RMs, as Environment Canada said humidex values reaching 42 C are expected.
Temperatures will reach the mid 30s C July 11 and 12.
Daytime highs will drop to the high 20s July 14, but will remain at this level through the remainder of the week.
A special weather statement remains for the city of Prince Albert, the Battlefords, the district of Lakeland and communities in dozens of RMs due to the heat that is forecasted for those areas.
