LOON LAKE— Conservation officers in Loon Lake are asking for the public’s assistance after two northern pikes were left to waste.
According to the Sasktip Facebook page, on July 12, Loon Lake conservation officers received a report that the two fish were found in the disposal bin in a fillet shack at the Summer RV Resort on Ministikwan Lake, west of Loon Lake. Officers reported that both fish only had parts of the tail fillets removed, leaving the rest of the edible meat to waste.
The Facebook posts notes it is unlawful to waste any edible meat that is fit for human consumption from any fish.
The public's help is needed to identify the individual(s) responsible. If anyone has any information, call the Turn-In-Poachers and Polluters (TIPP) line at 1-800-667-7561. Callers don't have to give their name and they might be eligible for a cash reward of up to $2,000.
SaskToday will have updates as they become available.
