SASKATOON — The Saskatoon Police Service Air Support Unit (ASU) played a key role in locating a stolen vehicle Monday afternoon.
A 36-year-old woman was arrested and has been charged with impaired driving, exceeding .08, and possession of a stolen vehicle under $5,000.
A report led ASU to observe erratic driving in the area of Avenue P South and 21st Street West at 4:40 p.m.
ASU continued to monitor the vehicle and share updates with officers on the ground. Officers also learned the vehicle had previously been reported stolen.
Officers conducted a high-risk traffic stop on the vehicle on 21st Street West between Avenue L South and Avenue M South. Five occupants of the vehicle were taken into custody without further incident. Police say an alcohol screening test was conducted on the driver of the vehicle and resulted in a fail.
