NORTH BATTLEFORD — The latest Crime Severity Index (CSI) numbers for 2025 as reported by Statistics Canada show that CSI levels have decreased for North Battleford.
The CSI measures both the volume and seriousness of police-reported crime.
The city of North Battleford saw CSI numbers at 477.10 for 2025. In comparison, 2024 numbers came in at 510.90, while 2023 numbers were 597.11.
The 2025 CSI number was 6.3 times above the overall number for Canada, which was 75.01.
The number for Saskatchewan's overall CSI was 146.64. That is close to twice the national CSI average number.
For rural North Battleford, numbers increased in 2025 compared to 2024 numbers, but were lower than 2023 numbers.
Rural North Battleford saw 353.34 CSI numbers for 2025. In comparison, 2024 numbers came in at 303.40, while 2023 numbers were at 390.54.
The 2025 CSI number was 4.7 times above the average number for Canada.
Looking at a few more Northern communities in Saskatchewan, Onion Lake had a 2025 CSI number of 745.79. Meadow Lake (municipal) saw a CSI of 321.59, and Prince Albert (municipal) had a CSI of 285.01.
