10:08 p.m.
Blanchard puts it right down the middle from 57 yards out and Edmonton has the 36-34 win. 

10:07 p.m.
Luther has an eight yard catch, the Elks end up with a 57 yard field goal attempt for the win or tie on the final play of the game.

10:05 p.m.
A catch by Luther gets Edmonton up to midfield, but a sack for a four yard loss pushes the Elks back out of field goal range with 23 seconds to play.

10:04 p.m.
A pass down the sideline is almost intercepted by Sayles and survives a challenge by the Elks, second down with 55 seconds remaining..

10:01 p.m.
Elks forced to third-and-three with 1:35 remaining and Luther makes a 16-yard catch to get up to the 30 with 1:04 remaining.

9:59 p.m.
Edmonton starts the drive from their own eight after a penalty on the return with 1:40 remaining.

9:58 p.m.
 A 23 yard pass to KSB gets the Riders into the red zone at the seven, and after Harris has a pass to Johnson III fall just short, Hale hits an 11-yard field goal to make it 34-33 with 1:46 to play in the game. Gonna be a heck of a finish.

9:56 p.m.
Edmonton goes for it on third down and Adams stuffs Snyder on the run to the right, the CFL replay centre respots the ball and it's a turnover on downs. RIders ball on the Edmonton 30 with 2:20 left in the game. What a turn of events.

9:51 p.m.
Edmonton ball on their own 20 after the missed field goal return. 

9:49 p.m.
Riders appear to have to go-ahead touchdown, but Emilus is called for the most marginal offensive pass interference in CFL history and the play is called back. Harris is sacked for a loss of 11 yards on the next play and Saskatchewan has to settle for a field goal. Hale has a 46 yard field goal attempt and it's wide left. 33-31 Edmonton with 3:17 to play in the game.

9:45 p.m.
Oh my goodness. Edmonton goes for it on third down from their own 52, the snap is fumbled, Fajardo throws it backwards and the ball is recovered by the Riders' Brooks, he takes it all the way back to the Elks 24 with 5:19 to play in the game.

9:39 p.m.
Drive gets up to the Edmonton 40 and that's where things stall. Hale has a 48 yard field goal and it's good. 33-31 Elks lead with 7:37 to play in the game.

9:36 p.m.
A short pass and a 10-yard sack by Adams thanks to some great coverage and the Elks are punting. Riders end up with the ball at midfield to start their next drive with 9:31 to play.

9:31 p.m.
Two plays and Riders are punting, Edmonton ball on their own 10 with 11:57 to play in the game. 

9:30 p.m.
Out of bounds kick and the Riders start their next drive at their own 50. 

9:28 p.m.
Touchdown Edmonton. The Roughriders defence once again forgets that Austin Mack exists, and he once again is happy to torch them. Two-point convert pass goes off the upright. One play, 81 yards, 33-28 Edmonton with 13:35 to play in the game.

9:26 p.m.
TOUCHDOWN ROUGHRIDERS! Duncan-Busby sets up at the goal line and hauls in the short pass behind a diving defensive back. Harris has four touchdowns tonight. Seven plays, 78 yards, 28-27 Saskatchewan with 14:31 to play in the game.

9:19 p.m.
Riders into the red zone at the Edmonton 11 after a third-down conversion by Tommy Stevens, and a two yard run by TBH sets Saskatchewan up on the Edmonton seven on the final play of the third quarter.

9:16 p.m.
Ouellette runs for four yards, his leg gets caught up and twists his knee outwards and folks, it does not look good at all. He leaves under his own power but we'll have to see if it's as bad as it initially looks. TBH is in at running back.

9:15 p.m.
Riders finally get a connection on offence – KSB catches a pass down the sidelines and goes 45 yards down to the Edmonton 33. Emilus has a catch for 19 and the Riders are at the Edmonton 33 with 1:38 to play in the third quarter.

9:12 p.m.
Saskatchewan ball on their own 32 to start their next drive.

9:11 p.m.
Touchdown Edmonton. Austin Mack gets behind the Riders defence and no one picks him up. He catches the ball at the 34 and goes 57 yards for the major. Saskatchewan has not looked good at all since the halftime break and Edmonton has obviously made some adjustments. Five plays, 93 yards, 27-21 Elks with 3:23 to go in the third quarter.

9:03 p.m.
Riders next drive stalls at midfield, Edmonton gets the ball on their own 17 after some solid downfield coverage on the punt.

8:58 p.m.
A sack by Vaugthers for a seven yard loss and incomplete pass and Edmonton has a 33-yard field goal attempt. It's good, 21-20 Saskatchewan with 9:19 to play in the third quarter — and Fajardo is limping as he leaves the field.

8:55 p.m.
Fajardo finds Luther for 37 yards to the Riders 37 on the first play after the interception.

8:53 p.m.
Edmonton interception. Pass goes off KeeSean and bounces high before being caught by Meyer for the first turnover of the game. Elks ball on their own 46 with 11:48 to play in the third quarter.

8:50 p.m.
A slick as heck one-hand catch by KSB for 13 yards gets the Riders into Edmonton territory at the Elks 49.

8:47 p.m.
Riders are starting on their own 35 to start the second half.

8:29 p.m.
TOUCHDOWN ROUGHRIDERS! What an absolute masterclass in running a three-minute drill. Harris finds KeeSean in the back of the end zone for the two-yard touchdown and they'll be taking the lead into halftime. Eight plays, 70 yards, 21-17 Saskatchewan at the break.

8:24 p.m.
Drive continues with a catch by KSB for 24 yards and nine yard run by Ouellette and Saskatchewan is up to the Edmonton three with 38 seconds left in the half. 

8:22 p.m.
Pass to KeeSean for 23 yards and Riders are into Edmonton territory.

8:19 p.m.
Edmonton ends up settling for a 38 yard field goal attempt and it's good. 10-7 Edmonton with 2:06 left in the half. 

8:18 p.m.
Mack has a 27 yard catch to get down to the 39 and Rankin breaks a bunch of tackles for eight yards up to the 31 with 2:27 to play in the half.

8:16 p.m.
Another checkdown pass, another first down and Edmonton is up to the Riders 40 at the three minute warning.

8:14 p.m.
Couple of runs by Ouellette and an incompletion and Riders are punting. The ball comes loose on the play and Saskatchewan recovers at the Edmonton 28. Coach Mace challenges, but the play stands. Elks ball on the Riders 28 with 3:25 left in the half.

8:06 p.m.
That checkdown pass and shoddy tackling leads to a nine-yard gain for Rankin into Riders territory, but a timecount violation after some confusion and Edmonton is punting. Saskatchewan gets the ball back on their own 14.

8 p.m.
Two short runs and Riders are punting, Edmonton ball on their own 40.

7:58 p.m.
Riders starting from their own 37 on their next drive. 

7:57 p.m.
Touchdown Edmonton. Luc's first key to the game rears it's head, as Leake takes a checkdown pass, blows through a couple of bad tackles and gets into the end zone. Three plays, 79 yard, 14-14 with 10:50 to play in the first half.

7:54 p.m.
A huge catch by Julien-Grant goes for 68-yards and Edmonton is up to the Riders 11.

7:51 p.m.
TOUCHDOWN ROUGHRIDERS! First play in the red zone is a slant to Emilus, and he finishes off his drive with the major. Riders offence looking slick at the moment! Seven plays, 70 yards, 14-7 Saskatchewan with 12:46 to play in the half. 

7:49 p.m.
Emilus catches a couple of 19-yard passes and a roughing the passer on top of it all gets Saskatchewan all the way down to the Edmonton eight. 

7:43 p.m.
Swing pass to Ouellette for 12 and run for two and Riders are at midfield to close out the first quarter. 7-7 tie.

7:41 p.m.
Riders stop Rankin on a pitch outside for a loss of three yards, punt goes out the back of the end zone, Saskatchewan ball on their own 20 with 1:16 left in the opening quarter.

7:39 p.m.
Riders try some trickery with an onside kick and it almost works, but Edmonton ball on the Sask 50 instead. High risk, high reward.

7:37 p.m.
TOUCHDOWN ROUGHRIDERS! No mistake on this long bomb, as KSB gets behind coverage and beats his man down field. Harris finds him and it's 56-yards to the house!
Five plays, 108 yards, 7-7 tie with 5:48 to play in the first quarter.

7:32 p.m.
And just like that they've got some breathing room, as KSB has a 37 yard catch up to the Riders 39.

7:30 p.m.
Aw man. Daniel Wiebe has a fantastic punt return all the way to the end zone, but the play is called back for holding and the Riders are instead in the shadows of their goalposts on their own two. 

7:26 p.m.
Roughriders come out with only 11 players on the punt team in honour of Jayden Dalke, Edmonton declines the delay of game penalty. Classy move by the teams. Elks get the ball back on their own 26 after the kickoff.

7:25 p.m.
Couple of passes to KeeSean, an overthrow on a sure touchdown pass to KeeSean and the Riders are punting from their own 48.

7:20 p.m.
Riders get the ball on their own 26 to start their first drive of the game.

7:18 p.m.
Touchdown Edmonton. O'Leary-Orange catches the ball at the eight and finishes off the 16-yard run into the end zone. Made it look easy on the opening drive. Seven plays, 81 yards, 7-0 Elks with 10:27 to play in the first quarter.

7:16 p.m.
O'Leary-Orange has a nice catch for 23 yards and Elks are up to the Riders 19.

7:15 p.m.
Short run, short pass and a sideline catch by Luther and Edmonton is in Riders territory at the 42.

7:11 p.m.
Leake has a decent return and Edmonton starts the game at their own 39.

7:09 p.m. 
Riders win the coin toss and defer, Edmonton get the ball to start the game and Saskatchewan will have the ball to start the second half. Kick-off on this first-place showdown is moments away!

7:03 p.m.
As expected, emotional moments at Mosaic right now as the team remembers linebacker Jayden Dalke and Bhishma Rajyaguru, who were killed in a motor vehicle accident this past weekend. The team plays special videos for both people and a moment of silence is held before the national anthem.

7:01 p.m.
Here are Luc's Three Keys to the Game for the Roughriders:

1 – Gotta be able to tackle the checkdown – Force Cody to throw the ball deep, and the way you do that is by not letting Justin Rankin hurt the team on checkdown throws. Make sure making solid tackles on the checkdown, even if they’re one-on-one tackles

2 – Win the turnover battle – Plain and simple, keep the ball when you have it and take it away when its in the Elks hands. Riders have done a good job all season, and they have to do it again.

3- Test Edmonton’s defensive communication – Use different formations, use bunches, change the tempo as often as possible. The more they have to move around, the more the communication is forced, the better chance of mistakes.

4:02 p.m.
It’s going to be another very hot one out there at Mosaic Stadium, but hopefully not quite as bad as last game and the 50C field-level heat. Temperatures will be in the 28 C range under sunny skies at kickoff, with the humidex making it feel like 29 C. Winds won’t be too bad, coming out of the west at 20 km/h, and there’s no chance of rain.

So another decent night for football in Regina!

4:01 p.m.
The Rider Broadcast Network pregame show is currently on the air, with Teagan Witko, Wes Cates and a host of special guests bringing you all the news and views leading up to kick-off. The Voice of the Riders Dave Thomas and analyst Luc Mullinder will take over from there, with things getting underway at 7 p.m.

4:00 p.m.
The Canadian Football League showdown everyone has been waiting for is finally here, as the Saskatchewan Roughriders take on the Edmonton Elks in a battle for first place in the West Division!

It’s been a difficult week for the Riders, and they’ll play with heavy hearts after the accident last weekend that killed linebacker Jayden Dalke and also took the life of Bhishma Rajyaguru.

Saskatchewan comes into the game off their second bye week and with a 4-1 record, a single win back of first-place Edmonton, who have been this season’s early surprise and boast a 5-1 mark.

The Riders’ last outing came back on Sunday, July 12 and saw Saskatchewan turn in their best defensive performance of the season in a 38-7 win over the Hamilton Tiger-Cats. They’ll see valuable pieces back in the line-up on both sides of the ball on Thursday, as Rolan Milligan Jr. returns at defensive back and Thomas Bertrand-Hudon will back up A.J. Ouellette at running back.

Edmonton will be led by former Riders quarterback Cody Fajardo, who has found himself with an embarrassment of riches on offence in the early going, including running back Justin Rankin. Rankin was on pace to set a handful of CFL records until last week’s game in B.C., so he’ll be a key factor for Saskatchewan to deal with.The Elks defence is led by defensive lineman and former Rider Malik Carney alongside Noah Taylor, with the duo having given Edmonton a lethal pass rush this season.
