REGINA — Average retail gasoline prices in Regina have risen 12.2 c/L in the past week, averaging 174.08 c/L Sunday, according to GasBuddy's daily survey of 82 gas outlets in Regina. This compares with the national average that has increased 4.5 c/L in the last week to 178.79 c/L, according to GasBuddy's gasoline price website.
"Average gasoline and diesel prices rose in every province over the last week, as continued escalations between the U.S. and Iran, renewed Houthi attacks in the Red Sea, and fresh Ukrainian strikes on Russian oil refineries combined to keep upward pressure on both crude and refined product markets," said Patrick De Haan, head of petroleum analysis at GasBuddy.
"However, a weekend pullback in hostilities offered some relief, with oil prices opening sharply lower Sunday, suggesting the pace of increases at the pump may moderate in the days ahead. For now, Canadians should expect prices to remain elevated, but the intensity of further gains will depend heavily on how the geopolitical situation develops in the coming week."
Including the change in gas prices in Regina during the past week, prices yesterday were 45.1 c/L higher than the same day one year ago and are 13.5 c/L higher than a month ago. The national average has increased 16.4 c/L during the last month and stands 44.9 c/L higher than this day one year ago.
According to GasBuddy historical data, gasoline prices on July 27 in Regina have ranged widely over the last five years:
129.00 c/L in 2025, 166.00 c/L in 2024, 156.66 c/L in 2023, 175.26 c/L in 2022 and 130.57 c/L in 2021.
