LLOYDMINSTER — Saskatchewan RCMP seized firearms and ammunition in Lloydminster, Sask., as part of an ongoing firearms investigation.
On July 15, Saskatchewan RCMP’s Lloydminster Saskatchewan Trafficking Response Team (STRT) executed a search warrant at a residence on 22nd Street in Lloydminster.
Officers located and seized four firearms with prohibited magazines and ammunition.
Officers determined four additional restricted firearms, which were registered to be stored at the residence, weren’t there. The firearms had not been reported lost or stolen. The police investigation determined one firearm was located by police in Alberta. Officers are actively working to locate the other three.
Brian Gogowich, 61, was arrested at the residence. Gogowich, of Lloydminster, is charged with three counts of unauthorized possession of a prohibited device, and four counts of failing to report the loss of a restricted firearm.
Gogowich is scheduled to appear in Lloydminster Provincial Court on Sept. 14.
