REGINA — As Regina remains under a yellow heat warning from Environment Canada, residents can find a variety of cooling spaces across the city to cool off.
These areas include:
All Nations Hope Network and Awasiw: Open Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to noon and 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., offering breakfast, lunch, coffee, water, washroom access, support groups, Wi-Fi and other support services.
Carmichael Outreach: Open Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., offering water, lunch, showers, washrooms, housing supports, hygiene kits and other services.
Circle Project: Open Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., offering bagged lunches, summer clothing, water and Narcan kits.
Neighbourhood facilities: Hours vary by location and include water bottle fill stations.
Neil Balkwill Civic Arts Centre: Open Monday to Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. to 10 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:45 p.m., and Sunday from 12:30 p.m. to 4:45 p.m. The facility offers a water cooler and water bottle fill station.
City Hall: Open Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:45 p.m., offering water fountains, water bottles and washrooms.
John Howard Society: Open Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for adult drop-in services and from 5:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. for youth drop-in services. The youth drop-in program includes pro-social activities, phone access, food and beverages, caseworker support, life-skills development, public washrooms, shower and laundry facilities, and hygiene items. The adult drop-in offers water, coffee, snacks, hygiene supplies and programming.
Newo-Yotina Friendship Centre: Open Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., offering breakfast, late lunch and drop-in centre services.
Queen City Wellness Pharmacy: Open Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The pharmacy offers coffee until 11 a.m., as well as snacks, water, first aid supplies, and on-site housing and social service supports on Thursdays.
Regina Public Library: Multiple locations with varying hours, offering water fill stations, washrooms, hygiene products at select locations and Naloxone kits on-site.
Salvation Army Church and Community Services: Open Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to noon and 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., offering water and snacks.
Street Culture Project – Treehouse Drop-In Youth Safe Space: Open daily for youth ages 15 to 24 from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m., with after-hours buzz-in support available from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. The space offers group programming, mentorship, and individualized mental health, substance use and wellness supports.
SWAP: Open Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., offering phone access, coffee, hygiene kits, feminine products, Narcan kits and other supports.
YWCA Regina – Community Hub: Open daily from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m., offering coffee and water, essential needs supplies and food.
