REGINA — The Regina Farmers’ Market (RFM) is hosting its third annual Tomato Festival on Saturday, Aug. 1 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Queen Elizabeth II Gardens, in front of the Saskatchewan Legislative Building.
With support from the Provincial Capital Commission (PCC), the Tomato Festival is RFM’s largest outdoor event and a celebration of one of the most beloved and bountiful crops of the season: the tomato. The event features an expanded vendor lineup, live entertainment and family-friendly programming on the West Lawn.
- 70+ local vendors offering peak-season produce, baked goods, handmade items, and more
- Live, local music from 9:30 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. on the Tomato Festival Stage, featuring SRW, The Better Halves, Gil & Wil and 1-800-POLKA – sponsored by Sask Lotteries
- Tomato Contest open to RFM vendors and the public: drop off entries at the RFM Information Booth by 9:30 AM. (More information is available on RFM's website.
- Carnival games including potato sack races, horseshoes, cornhole, giant Jenga, ladderball, connect 4, croquet, and a colouring and tie dye station provided by Regina Downtown BID
- A petting zoo thanks to Fenek Farms
- A picnic on the West Lawn – bring a blanket and enjoy lunch from RFM food vendors and food trucks while watching the entertainment.
