RCMP seize cocaine and methamphetamine in RM of Buckland

RM of BUCKLAND – Prince Albert RCMP have charged a woman after a traffic stop led them to seizing cocaine, methamphetamine and weapons.

On Aug. 2, Prince Albert RCMP were conducting patrols on Highway 2 in the RM of Buckland. They observed a speeding vehicle swerving, and performed a traffic stop.

Officers administered an oral fluid device test on the driver. It showed the driver had recently consumed cocaine. A woman was arrested.

During a search of the vehicle, officers located and seized approximately 55 grams of cocaine, 11 grams of methamphetamine, a sum of cash, trafficking paraphernalia and a can of bear spray.

As a result of the continued investigation, officers obtained and executed a search warrant at a residence in Prince Albert. They located and seized almost 200 grams of cocaine, trafficking paraphernalia, a large sum of cash and an imitation firearm.

A 31-year-old woman, from Prince Albert, is charged with:

• possession for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine;
• possession for the purpose of trafficking – methamphetamine;
• possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose;
• operation of a conveyance while impaired; and
• possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000.

The suspect was remanded into custody until her scheduled appearance in Prince Albert Provincial Court on Aug. 4.
