Oof, that was a comedy of errors. Pimpleton mistimes his run behind the line, the snap hits him, and after bouncing around back to the 24 yard line, Brooks recovers it's the Riders ball.

Riders look to go for it from third and two on the Ottawa 26, but the Riders take their second procedure penalty of the drive and it's a field goal attempt from 34 yards. Down the middle, 3-0 with 8:13 remaining. And a whole lotta people exhale.

Hah, Conley's first carry and it's a highlight reel. He's dead to rights behind the line but breaks at least four tackles and turns it into an 11-yard gain to the Ottawa 29.

Here are Luc's Three Keys to the Game. As he says, they're not complicated:
1 – Success will have to go through the offensive line. The offensive line has to win up front in both pass blocking and rushing and Quali Conley needs to have another big game.
2 – Have to get pressure on Jake Maier. If the Riders can get pressure on Jake Maier, that’ll lead to mistakes, and that’ll lead to turnovers. Bring blitzes, get Jake moving and let’s see what happens.
3 – Special teams coverage has to be good. Redblacks returner Kalil Plimpleton is dangerous, so the coverage on punt and kick returns has to be spot on. Can’t let this team find life with big special teams plays.

If things were as they should be heading into the meeting between the Saskatchewan Roughriders and Ottawa Redblacks on Friday night at Mosaic Stadium, there’s little question the contest between West and East Division rivals would be a ‘trap game’.
Not a lot of other ways to describe a contest between the defending Grey Cup champs and a team that has yet to find the win column this season.
But injuries have a way of evening the playing field, and that factor has turned this meeting into a very interesting game, very quickly.
The Roughriders come into the Week 10 contest with a 5-2 record and in second place in the West in addition to having a bit of momentum on their side. That’s thanks to their most heartening win of the campaign thus far, a 28-26 victory over the Edmonton Elks in Edmonton last week that offered a measure of revenge and allowed them to keep pace with the Division leaders.
That success came in spite of a series of injuries prior to and during the game, and that list has only become worse since.
Running back A.J. Ouellette, defensive back Rolan Milligan Jr., defensive back Tevaughn Campbell, receiver Sam Emilus, receiver Kian Schaffer-Baker and fullback Albert Awachie are just some of the key names sidelined for this outing.
That’s given the Redblacks a bit of extra hope that things can go their way. Quarterback Jake Maier pointed out earlier this week that his 0-7 team just hasn’t been able to put everything together in a single game, but if they do, a win could certainly be in the cards.
And facing a team missing a half-dozen ultra-elite starters might be what they need to solve the winning equation.
So will the Riders' depth prevail as it did in Edmonton? Or will the Redblacks finally gather themselves and find the win column?
