NORTH BATTLEFORD —A North Battleford area man has been sentenced to nearly six years in prison after pleading guilty to touching two children under the age of 16 for a sexual purpose and distributing child pornography.
Blaisen Nicotine, 27, was sentenced on Aug. 4 to 2,160 days (five years and 11 months). He was given 796 days of remand credit, leaving 1,364 days (three years and nine months) left to serve.
According to court documents, one of the incidents occurred in a school bathroom, where Nicotine exposed himself to a person under 16 for a sexual purpose and invited them to touch him. He was additionally charged with sexual assault, making child pornography, distributing child pornography, and possessing child pornography.
In a second incident, he was charged with sexual assault of another victim under 16 in November 2024. In that incident he was also charged with making child pornography, possessing child pornography and distributing child pornography, as well as communicating with a person under the age of 18 for the purpose facilitating a sexual offence to make child pornography.
Nicotine was also placed on the Sex Offender Information Registration (SOIRA) for life.
A publication ban is in place on any information that would identify the children.
