ONION LAKE CREE NATION – Saskatchewan RCMP has charged a woman with aggravated assault after a man was injured on Onion Lake Cree Nation.
On July 8, Onion Lake RCMP received a report of an injured male in hospital. EMS had attended a residence on Onion Lake Cree Nation and transported the male to hospital. Further investigation determined his injuries were suspicious in nature and believed to be serious.
Saskatchewan RCMP’s Battlefords Serious Crimes Unit (SCU) took charge of the investigation and determined an altercation occurred at the residence, and the male was injured. The residence on Onion Lake Cree Nation was searched by Battlefords SCU with the assistance of North Battleford Forensic Identification Services. Evidence was recovered from that location.
On July 29, a woman was arrested in relation to this investigation.
The 26-year-old woman, from Onion Lake Cree Nation, has since been charged with one count, aggravated assault.
She is scheduled to appear in court in Onion Lake on Sept. 16.
