INDIAN HEAD — The Indian Head RCMP is asking for the public's assistance with a missing person case.
According to a news release from the Saskatchewan RCMP, on Aug. 15, the Indian Head detachment received a report that Calvin Schmidt of Indian Head was missing. An initial RCMP news release said he was last seen Aug. 15 at 5 a.m. on Eden Street in the town, but the RCMP now says further investigation has determined he was last seen on foot at approximately 11 p.m. on Aug. 14 on Eden Street.
He is described as being 5'4" tall and weighing 175 pounds. He has brown eyes, and short white hair with a white beard. He uses a cane. The RCMP said Schmidt might be wearing a jacket, pants and baseball cap that are all dark in colour.
The news release said the detachment continues to investigate. This includes conducting patrols of Indian Head and surrounding areas, and checking places Schmidt is known to frequent.
As he was last seen on foot, the Indian Head RCMP is asking anyone who lives in the area to check any garages, sheds, outbuildings or any other structures for any unusual activity or signs of Schmidt. In addition, police are asking for any footage that shows Schmidt, or anyone matching his description, from security cameras, doorbell cameras or dashcams on the late evening of Aug. 14 until the end of the day Aug. 15.
