Reported firearms incident call in Regina proved to be cap guns

REGINA — Members of the Regina Police Service (RPS) received a call Aug. 15 regarding a possible firearms offence in the 2100-block of Saskatchewan Drive.

According to an RPS news release, officers quickly arrived on scene and began their investigation into the potential incident. Officers located individuals with what the RPS said were “cap guns” and deemed the firearms offence as unfounded. Activities in the area returned to normal. 

An investigation is ongoing.
