LLOYDMINSTER — Conservation officers are asking for the public's assistance after fish were left to waste in northwest Saskatchewan.
According to the Sasktip Facebook page, on Aug. 13, Lloydminster conservation officers received a Turn in Poachers call regarding two piles of fish that had been wasted along the North Saskatchewan River, north of Lloydminster. The Sasktip post said this area is known as the old ferry crossing.
Sasktip reported conservation officers located a total of 17 suckers and four walleye, of which one was upper size.
"It is unlawful to waste game fish and dispose of fish in an improper manner," the post said.
The offence was believed to have taken place approximately one or two days prior. Conservation officers collected evidence from the scene but require the public’s assistance to solve the case.
