ESTEVAN, Sask. — An man is in custody after he was charged with assault and sexual assault.
According to the Aug. 27 report from the Estevan Police Service (EPS), members arrested the 45-year-old man. He was lodged in cells and will appear in Estevan Provincial Court on Aug. 31.
In other recent police news, members received a report Aug. 27 of a break and enter at a condo complex. The EPS said damage was reported to the exterior of the building, along with graffiti and damage to the interior. According to the EPS, members have identified a number of youths believed to be involved and are continuing to follow up to identify everyone involved. The matter remains under investigation.
Police tended to a disturbance in the city core involving two tenants. The EPS said members mediated a resolution for the evening.
Members arrested three youths for breaching their release conditions. The three were not permitted to have contact with each other but were found together. They were released again and will appear in court at a later date.
On Aug. 26, police located an unregistered vehicle parked on the bypass. The registered owner was contacted, the EPS said, and given the opportunity to have the vehicle towed, otherwise police would have it removed from the roadway.
Police were called to a local business for a report of a man sleeping inside. The EPS said members attended and he was sent on his way.
Officers were called to a local hotel for a report of an intoxicated Moose Jaw man wandering the second floor. He was not a guest of the hotel. The EPS said he was arrested and lodged in cells, and will be released when he is sober enough to care for himself.
Police attended a residence for a disturbance between two individuals who were disagreeing over the tidiness of the home. The EPS said members mediated the situation and the matter were resolved for the evening.
Police were called to the Pleasantdale area for a report of a man running down the street while screaming and yelling. The EPS said he was believed to be intoxicated. Police attended and learned he had already been picked up by family members, who agreed to supervise him.
Police responded to a break and enter at a multi-unit condominium building in the 1100 block of Valley Street. The EPS asks anyone with information about this incident or the associated mischief is asked to contact the EPS at 306-637-4767.
