YORKTON, Sask. – Three people, including two youths, are facing charges following an assault in Yorkton that sent a man to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Yorkton RCMP said officers received a report of an assault on Smith Street shortly after 3:15 p.m. on Aug. 24.
Police say an investigation determined a confrontation occurred involving several individuals, during which an adult man was assaulted. He was treated in hospital for injuries that were not considered life-threatening.
Two female youths and an adult woman were arrested at the scene.
Following further investigation, 34-year-old Leona Powder and two 16-year-old girls have each been charged with assault causing bodily harm.
The identities of the youths are protected under the Youth Criminal Justice Act and cannot be published.
All three accused are scheduled to appear in Yorkton Provincial Court on Oct. 5.
