PRINCE ALBERT, Sask. — The Prince Albert Police Service has charged a 34-year-old man with numerous firearms-related offences following an investigation into drug trafficking and the possession of firearms.
On Aug. 28, members of the Prince Albert Police Service Combined Response Team (PACRT), Patrol Unit and RCMP CRT executed a search warrant at a residence in the 400 block of 18th Street West, and a vehicle connected to the investigation.
The search was conducted at approximately 7:03 p.m. and police located and seized two 12-gauge shotgun rounds, a .410-calibre round, four airsoft pistols, a Winchester Model 94 .30-30 rifle, a Mossberg model 560 sawed-off shotgun and barrel, a Steambow crossbow, 10 large caliber rounds, two 22 caliber rounds, 1.3 grams of methamphetamine, and a digital scale.
Earlier that day, a member of the Patrol Unit had arrested the 34-year-old on outstanding warrants. A search incident to arrest resulted in the seizure of approximately 11.4 grams of methamphetamine, 2.6 grams of cocaine, a machete, $2,532 in Canadian currency, a digital scale and a large quantity of small bags.
He was charged with six offences, including a breach of a release order, following the arrest.
The man is facing 15 additional charges, including firearms offences.
He is scheduled to appear in Prince Albert Provincial Court on Sept. 3.
