REGINA, Sask. — An investigation is underway after a person was injured while trying to cross the tracks near Elphinstone Street and McKinley Avenue.
According to a news release from the Regina Police Service, on Sept. 6 at approximately 10 p.m., members of the Regina Police Service, CP Rail Police, emergency medical services, and Regina Fire and Protective Services were called to the tracks for the report of the injured person.
Upon arrival, the RPS said a 16-year-old girl was located suffering from what appeared to be serious injuries and was transported by EMS to hospital to receive medical care. Members from the forensic identification unit attended to document the scene and secure any potential evidence.
A co-ordinated investigation into this incident between the Regina Police Service and CP Rail Police is ongoing, the RPS said. At this time, the RPS said the incident does not appear to be criminal in nature.
