SASKATCHEWAN – A rainfall warning is now in effect for much of the province.
The advisory covers the cities of Saskatoon, Regina, Moose Jaw and Prince Albert, the district of Lakeland, the Battlefords and communities in 297 RMs.
"A low-pressure system will bring heavy rain and thunderstorms to southern Saskatchewan and western Manitoba," said the warning.
Rain is expected to continue Sept. 7. Rainfall amounts with this system will be highly variable, Environment Canada said, but widespread amounts of 30-50 millimetres are expected, with higher amounts in thunderstorms.
Water will likely pool on roads and in low-lying areas, the warning states. Visibility will likely be suddenly reduced at times.
A severe thunderstorm watch that was issued Sept. 6 for much of southern Saskatchewan has been lifted, although one has been issued again for the southeast.
