BROADVIEW, Sask. — A 39-year-old Whitewood man charged with two counts of sexual assault and unlawful confinement was due back in Broadview Circuit Court on Sept. 2.
He can’t be identified because of a court ordered publication ban protecting the victim’s identity and wasn’t present. A lawyer appeared by phone on his behalf instead.
The matter was adjourned by consent of the Crown and defence to Sept. 16. The defence is waiting for disclosure from the Crown.
According to RCMP, on July 20, the Broadview/Moosomin detachment received a report of a sexual assault that occurred in Whitewood. Following an investigation, officers arrested the man.
