The Melville Millionaires improved to 3-and-1 in preseason action with a 2-1 road win over the Waywayseecappo Wolverines Wednesday night.
The victory also provided some revenge for the Mils, who dropped a 5-2 decision to the Wolverines on home ice the previous night.
Wesley Olson, Jaden Kokosha and Rylan Oatman combined for six points, with Kokosha opening the scoring in the first period before Olson added what stood as the game-winner in the second.
Waywayseecappo cut the deficit to one just 5:44 into the third when Ryden Duchon scored on the power play, but that was as close as the Wolverines would get.
Noah Kraus stopped all 20 shots he faced through the first two periods before Kaleb Page took over in the third. Page turned aside six of seven shots to preserve the victory. Mariko Bercier made 25 saves for Waywayseecappo.
The Millionaires will close out their preseason schedule this weekend with a home-and-home against the Yorkton Terriers. The two teams meet Friday in Melville before heading to Yorkton for the rematch Saturday night.
Elsewhere, the Weyburn Red Wings claimed the preseason edition of the Highway 39 rivalry with a 6-2 win over the Estevan Bruins.
Callas Pierce scored twice for Weyburn, while Kiran Fedun, Crue Mohr, Max Hawitt and Ethan Boehm added singles. Nate Stevens stopped 28 of 30 shots in the Red Wings net.
Justin Poudrette and Gunnar Moore replied for Estevan, while Brady Carr made 34 saves on 39 shots.
The Red Wings and Bruins will finish their home-and-home Friday night in Estevan.
