BATTLEFORD, Sask. — Battlefords RCMP have arrested a youth after a robbery at Finlayson Island.
On Sept. 8 at around 2:40 p.m., Battlefords RCMP received a report of a robbery at Finlayson Island in Battleford.
The investigation determined a suspect approached a victim, assaulted them and attempted to steal their vehicle. The victim reported non-life-threatening injuries to police. The victim’s vehicle was damaged during the incident.
The suspect initially resisted officers, but was arrested at the scene.
Charges are pending against the arrested individual, who is a female youth. Police are unable to provide details of the charges at this time, as the court information has not yet been sworn. Court appearance details are also pending.
The female youth will not be able to be identified as per the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
