SASKATOON, Sask. — A 38-year-old Martensville man is back behind bars after the Saskatchewan Internet Child Exploitation (ICE) Unit arrested him, just months after his release from jail on similar charges.
The Saskatchewan Internet Child Exploitation (ICE) Unit has charged a Martensville resident with child exploitation related offences.
On Sept. 17, the Saskatchewan ICE Unit executed a search warrant at a home in Martensville. Electronic devices were examined at scene and seized by investigators.
Matthew Joseph Wood, 38, was charged with two counts of possession of child abuse and exploitation material, making child abuse and exploitation available, and breach of probation.
According to ICE, Wood was charged with various child exploitation offences in January 2024. He was sentenced to jail time in late 2024 and released in May 2026.
Wood appeared in court on his new charges on Sept. 18, and was remanded until his next appearance on Sept. 22.
The Saskatchewan ICE Unit is comprised of investigators from the Saskatchewan RCMP, Regina Police Service and Saskatoon Police Service. Their mandate is to investigate crimes involving Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation Material.
