REGINA, Sask. — Saskatchewan RCMP say on Sept. 18 at 5:41 p.m., Carlyle RCMP received a report of a missing aircraft that was traveling between Regina and Steinbach, Man.
Two RCMP officers were responding when the Department of National Defence, who was searching for the plane, advised they had located it in a remote, rural area near Kisbey, Sask. The site was only accessible via ATV and the RCMP officers used the detachment ATV to access the site. RCMP Collision Reconstruction provided support to Transportation Safety Board of Canada at the scene.
While RCMP assisted with this investigation including having a presence on scene, the Transportation Safety Board is the lead investigator. Given this, the RCMP say they will not be providing more information.
