PRINCE ALBERT, Sask. — A 35-year-old man faces charges of possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking and multiple firearms related offences following a drug trafficking investigation by Prince Albert Police Service.
According to police, the Crime Reduction Team (CRT) launched an investigation earlier this month into suspected cocaine trafficking in the city. As part of the investigation, officers obtained search warrants for a residence and a vehicle.
On Sept. 16, members arrested the male during a traffic stop in the 700 block of 4th Street East. He was taken into custody without incident and police seized a vehicle connected to the investigation. A fixed-blade knife was located and seized during a search of the vehicle.
At approximately 9:20 pm, CRT executed the search warrant at a residence in the 800 block of 6th Street East.
Police located and seized:
• 271.4 grams of powder cocaine;
• 76.9 grams of crack cocaine;
• 114.7 grams of MDMA;
• 188 hydromorphone pills;
• 213 grams of marijuana;
• An Aero Survival Rifle and ammunition;
• Approximately $2,200 in Canadian currency;
• Five scales;
• Four drug press moulds; and
• 20 guitars valued at $20,000.
