REGINA, Sask. — The City of Regina has extended its seasonal off-leash dog park operations until November 20, nearly seven weeks beyond the usual September 30 closing date.
The extension applies to eight neighbourhood outdoor rinks temporarily converted into enclosed dog parks: M.J. Coldwell, Glencairn, Leslie, Mike Badham, Rosemont School, Westhill, Rochdale and Litzenberger parks.
Hours remain tied to the school calendar, with the parks open from 4 p.m. to 11 p.m. on school days and 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. on weekends and non-school days.
Owners should stay close to their dogs because the seasonal sites do not have the double-gated entry areas found at Regina’s permanent off-leash parks.
The seasonal parks will close after November 20 as crews clean, maintain and flood the surfaces for the winter skating season.
Five permanent year-round off-leash parks, including Cathy Lauritsen Memorial and Ross Industrial, will remain open daily from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m.
