REGINA, Sask. — A 22-year-old man was arrested after officers were called to a business in Regina’s east end following a report of a weapons offence involving a knife.
At approximately 6:30 p.m. on Sept. 26, officers were called to a business in the 2100 block of Prince of Wales Drive. The caller reported that a man displayed a knife after being confronted by store employees regarding an alleged theft from the business. The suspect then left the store, entered a vehicle and left the area before officers arrived.
When officers arrived, they learned that an employee at a nearby business in the 2000 block of Prince of Wales Drive had reported a male matching the suspect’s description. Police attended the business and located the suspect inside. When officers attempted to approach him, the male fled on foot but was arrested a short distance away without further incident. A search resulted in the seizure of a knife concealed beneath his shirt.
The suspect was charged with robbery, resisting arrest, possession of a weapon, carrying a concealed weapon, and failing to comply with a probation order.
He appeared in Regina court on Sept. 28.
