REGINA, Sask. — Regina Police Service members, including members of its Special Weapons and Tactical Team (SWAT), were called Thursday to the 1100 block of Robinson Street in search of a suspect after three victims were transported to hospital with gunshot wounds.
RPS told SaskToday police were called around 12:45 p.m. to a Robinson Street location between Fifth and Sixth avenues following a report of a weapons offence.
Officers at the scene told SaskToday around 1:30 p.m. they were “just trying to locate someone” and that there was no danger to the public.
At least five police cruisers could be seen on Robinson Street at the time, in addition to several others parked on side avenues or actively patrolling the neighbourhood.
One house on the east side of Robinson was noticeable for an abundance of household effects and children’s toys strewn about the yard and sidewalk, some spilling onto the street. Multiple police officers could be seen entering and exiting the yard early Thursday afternoon.
Regina police further indicated that the three victims who were taken to hospital were transported with what initially appeared to be non-life-threatening wounds.
