SASKATOON, Sask. — Saskatoon business leader Charidy Clubbe, CPB, founder and CEO of CDC Bookkeeping, has earned national recognition after being awarded the Certified Professional Bookkeepers of Canada (CPB Canada) Professional Leader of the Year Award.
This annual award is presented to a bookkeeper who upholds CPB Canada's values while demonstrating a strong commitment to promoting professional excellence within the industry.
Clubbe founded CDC Bookkeeping in 2000 at her kitchen table and has since grown it into one of Saskatchewan's largest bookkeeping firms. What started as a one-woman practice now employs 30 professionals and serves over 550 clients across Saskatchewan and Canada. Under Clubbe's leadership, CDC Bookkeeping transitioned to a paperless, cloud-based operation, allowing the firm to scale nationally without compromising quality or client service, according to a CDC Bookkeeping press release.
"Being born and raised in Saskatchewan, I'm proud of this award for its role in shining a spotlight on the Saskatoon business community," said Clubbe. "Over the past 26 years, I've had the privilege of working alongside many clients and businesses here, and it means a lot to be recognized for that work."
That commitment to community shapes how CDC operates day to day, the press release states. According to CDC, community involvement is an essential part of the firm’s values, from supporting local businesses to contributing monthly to causes important to the team, including the Saskatoon SPCA, Canadian Blood Services, and Haven Kids House.
CDC Bookkeeping currently employs six certified professional bookkeepers, with several employees advancing from junior roles into senior and leadership positions under Clubbe's guidance.
“Charidy’s leadership at CDC is an inspiration for all local businesses. Her success has been built on exceptional client service and an unwavering commitment to helping clients achieve
financial clarity,” said Carey Bursaw, managing partner at CDC.
“Her ability to combine technical expertise with a genuine desire to help others succeed has had a lasting impact on the businesses and entrepreneurs she serves.”
Clubbe is also an advocate for the bookkeeping profession nationally, encouraging her team to pursue CPB designation and championing bookkeeping’s credibility as a career — work that has helped raise Saskatchewan's profile within the national bookkeeping community.
