Saskatchewan's Agriculture Industry is in the spotlight as this week has been declared Agriculture Week.
The theme for this year is #CelebrateAg, encouraging conversations about where our food comes from, and the people who work hard behind the scenes, through a mix of online campaigns, community events, and activities.
Farmers have used social media platforms to show the work they do, especially during seeding and harvest season.
"Agriculture is a way of life, driven by the hard work, innovation and resilience of those who produce our food," Agriculture Minister David Marit said in a news release. "Agriculture Week is an opportunity to recognize farmers, ranchers and agri-businesses for their contributions at home and globally."
People can get involved in Agriculture Week by posting with the hashtag Celebrate Ag, downloading and sharing Agriculture Week graphics, and participating in the month-long Farm & Food Care photo contest.
"Saskatchewan farmers and ranchers work hard every day to grow safe, nutritious food for people here and around the world," Farm & Food Care Executive Director Clinton Monchuk said. "Agriculture Week is a chance to have honest conversations with consumers about how food is produced and to really celebrate the people and food from this amazing industry."
