REGINA, Sask. — Saskatchewan is celebrating Agriculture Week from Oct. 4 to 10, recognizing the province's farming and food sector and the people and innovations that drive it.
"Agriculture is a way of life, driven by the hard work, innovation and resilience of those who produce our food," Agriculture Minister David Marit said.
"Agriculture Week is an opportunity to recognize farmers, ranchers and agri-businesses for their contributions at home and globally."
Each year, this week brings together those in the agriculture industry and consumers to share stories, foster understanding and highlight the strength and resilience of the agricultural community.
The theme #CelebrateAg encourages conversations about where food comes from and the people behind it. Through a mix of online campaigns, community events and activities, Agriculture Week aims to bridge the gap between producers and consumers, according to Sask. Agriculture.
"Saskatchewan farmers and ranchers work hard every day to grow safe, nutritious food for people here and around the world," Farm & Food Care Executive Director Clinton Monchuk said.
"Agriculture Week is a chance to have honest conversations with consumers about how food is produced and to really celebrate the people and food from this amazing industry."
