PRINCE ALBERT, Sask. — The Prince Albert Police Service is asking for the public’s help identifying whoever is responsible for stealing about $6,000 worth of construction fencing from a community garden on in the 1800 block of 15th Avenue East.
Police received a report on Oct. 5, after it was discovered that fencing surrounding the community garden had been removed. Investigation has determined that a total of 36 panels were taken on two separate occasions between Oct. 1 and Oct. 5.
The stolen fencing consists of red metal construction fence panels measuring approximately six feet by 10 feet.
Each panel is valued at approximately $150, with the total value of the stolen fencing estimated at $6,000.
Some of the hardware and footing pieces used to secure the fencing were left behind. Due to the size of the panels, police believe the fencing would likely have been disassembled and transported using a suitable vehicle.
Police are asking anyone who may have witnessed suspicious activity around the community garden during this timeframe, observed individuals removing or transporting fencing, or has information about the stolen fencing to contact the Prince Albert Police Service.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Prince Albert Police Service at 306-953-4222. Information can also be provided anonymously online.
