BIG RIVER, Sask. — Conservation officers are investigating an abandoned bull moose carcass in the Big River area that was reported Oct. 5.
According to officers, the carcass was left to waste 36 kilometres north of Big River in the Highway 55 Road Corridor Game Preserve.
Vehicle tracks were found leading to the moose, but no meat was taken and hunting is prohibited in the Road Corridor Game Preserve. Officers say the incident is believed to have occurred during the early morning hours of Oct. 5.
Big River conservation officers are requesting the public’s assistance in identifying those responsible for this incident.
