Riders get up to the Montreal 35 before the drive stalls. Lauther has his first field goal attempt since his return, and the 42-yarder is right down the middle. 3-0 Riders with 9:52 left in the first quarter.

KSB has a 25-yard catch over the middle to get into Als territory up to the 40.

Interception Riders! That's better, boys! Alexander goes for it deep again and Sayles snares it at the Riders five before getting back up to the 20. Sayles' first pick of the season. Riders ball with 12:30 left in the first quarter.

Sigh. Alexander runs right up the middle through the biggest hole imaginable all the up to the 35. Next play he's almost sacked but gets away and gets off a bomb to the end zone that's just barely knocked away. Almost a disaster start.
11:07 a.m.
Als start from their own 40 to get things underway.

Montreal wins the coin toss and have elected to receive, so it's Als ball to get things started. Kick off is moments away!

Here are Luc's Three Keys to the Game for Saskatchewan:Â
1 – Trevor Harris has to get back to using his first two reads. He's been holding the ball longer as teams take away his first looks, so find a way to get the ball away to those primary receivers.
2 – Get the ball out of Davis Alexander's hands quickly. Need lots of heavy blitz packages to throw Alexander off his game and make him get rid of the ball, make mistakes in the process.
3 – Can't chase this game. Can't start from behind, have to get off to a fast start and keep Montreal from getting any kind of a big lead.Â

Left tackle Payton Collins was a game time decision with an ankle injury and can't go, so we've got some changes up front: Thomas Perry is activated off the practice roster and is in at left guard, Daniel Johnson moves to left tackle and Collins moves to the one-game injured list.
Here's the new depth chart:

8:02 a.m.
It’s going to be a cool one in Montreal today, with the temperature at 15 C at kickoff under mainly cloudy skies. Winds won’t be all that bad, coming out of the west at 10 km/h. So not too bad of a day for football!
8:01 a.m.
The Rider Broadcast Network is on the air, with Teagan Witko, Wes Cates and plenty of special guests bringing you to game time. Dave Thomas and Luc Mullinder will then have the game call at kick-off at 11 a.m.

It’s a meeting between the 2025 Grey Cup finalists, it’s a critical game in the CFL playoff picture, it’s the Saskatchewan Roughriders taking on the Montreal Alouettes from Percival Molson Stadium in Montreal!
As has been much discussed over the last week, the Roughriders playoff push has officially begun in earnest, with all three of their remaining games essentially must-win if they’re to reach the post-season. But it isn’t going to be easy by any stretch, especially given who their opponents are over their final three contests.
The Riders had some good and bad news on the roster front this week, as defensive back Tevaughn Campbell and return specialist Mathew Sexton both are back in the lineup, but they also took a big hit as KeeSean Johnson is out with an ankle injury. That takes away Saskatchewan’s biggest offensive weapon this season and will mean everyone else will have to step up against Montreal’s tough defence.
Saskatchewan is 8-7 on the campaign and have lost their last three games to fall into a four-team race for the final playoff spot. They’re coming off an ugly 37-31 loss to the Calgary Stampeders in Week 18 and will need to be better in all facets of the game to find the win column today.
The good news is their destiny is in their own hands. The Riders’ magic number is two, with a combination of a win and Calgary loss at any point over the last three weeks landing Saskatchewan the cross-over playoff berth.
Montreal, on the other hand, has nothing to worry about. They sit at 12-3 at the top of the East Division and locked down their playoff spot weeks ago. That’s led to some questions as to how ‘into it’ they’ll be today, but make no mistake, the challenge is serious and real for Riders regardless of how intense the game may be.
Davis Alexander leads the Als’ ultra-dangerous offence and has a wealth of weapons at his disposal, including near-2,000 yard receiver Tyson Philpot and 1,000 yard pass catcher Tyler Snead. So look for plenty of action through the air any time Montreal has the ball.
It’s also the first meeting between the two teams since Saskatchewan defeated Montreal in the 2025 Grey Cup, so a bit of revenge will also be in the air.
So it’s going to be an interesting Thanksgiving match-up, and we’ll see if Saskatchewan can put together a big win when they need it the most.
