RM OF SHERWOOD, Sask. – Only two of the five open seats on the RM of Sherwood council will need to go to a vote on Nov. 9.
Three out of the seats have been acclaimed following the close of nominations last week. One is for reeve with Carl Husum being acclaimed to the position. He will take over after the election from current Reeve Ray Orb who was appointed to fill the vacancy earlier this year.
Also acclaimed were Christopher Reynolds in Division 4 and Jeff Poissant in Division 6.
The two divisions that will see a contest on Nov. 9 are Division 2 where the candidates are Parker Schikowski, Draedon Hozempa and Dan Hebert; and Division 3 where the candidates are John WIlke and Harry Frank.
Voting will take place at the RM office at 4400 Campbell Street in Regina from 9 a.m.-8 p.m. Advance voting will be available Nov. 3, also at the RM office, from 1-7 p.m. Mail-in voting is also available.
