SASKATOON, Sask. — A male youth has been arrested in relation to a robbery with a machete at a business on Sunday night.
At around 10:35 on Oct. 11, police officers were patrolling in the 1200 block of Idylwyld Drive North when they observed several suspicious males enter a business.
As police approached the business, four males were seen running out of the store in different directions. At the same time, police received a call for service stating four males matching these males’ descriptions had robbed the store with a machete and a sledgehammer.
A machete was later located in a nearby alley. A member of the Canine Unit attended to conduct a track which resulted in police locating one of the male suspects who was arrested without further incident. The other male suspects were not located.
As a result of this incident, the 16-year-old male youth has been charged with disguise with intent, robbery, carrying a concealed weapon, possession of a weapon; and breach of court-imposed conditions.
He is scheduled to appear in Saskatoon Provincial Court on Oct. 13.
