REGINA, Sask. — Saskatchewan schools are celebrating student achievements and recognizing education professionals whose dedication helps learners grow, succeed and prepare for bright futures.
Education Week brings schools across Saskatchewan together to recognize the achievements of students and the dedication of the people who support their learning.
From teachers and educational assistants to school administrators, caretakers, school division staff and bus drivers, education professionals play an important role in helping students learn, grow and thrive.
Since 1987, Education Week has featured a unique theme celebrating the province’s diverse educational landscape. This year’s theme, “Big Skies, Bright Futures: Learning in Saskatchewan,” highlights the opportunities for learning, growth and development available to Saskatchewan students.
“Education is about opening doors and helping students see what is possible,” Education Minister Everett Hindley said.
“During Education Week, we celebrate the incredible students and those who work behind the scenes and in our classrooms every day. Whether they are teaching a lesson, supporting a student, preparing a school for the day or safely driving children to and from school, their dedication helps create bright futures for Saskatchewan students beyond the walls of the classrooms.”
Education professionals work every day to create welcoming school environments where students feel safe, supported and inspired. They encourage curiosity, build confidence and help learners discover their strengths and reach their goals.
Education Week also provides an opportunity to recognize the contributions of families, community partners and volunteers who support student success and strengthen connections between schools and communities.
Schools across the province will mark the week with activities showcasing student learning, celebrating achievements and recognizing the people who make a difference in education.
The week highlights how students are exploring new possibilities, pursuing their goals and preparing for the future, supported by the educators and communities around them.
