ESTEVAN, Sask. — Work has started on Highway 47 from north Estevan to the junction with Highway 361.
According to the Ministry of Highways and Infrastructure's Highway Hotline, the affected area is about 25 kilometres in length. A width restriction of 3.7 metres is in place for vehicles.
Current work is taking place adjacent to the road. Motorists are asked to reduce speed around workers. There is also a sharp drop-off from the pavement.
"Watch for equipment and persons working," the advisory said.
The Highway Hotline reports the work will continue until Nov. 20.
The Highway 47 project was announced earlier this year. At one time, the ministry said it would be completed this year.
A stretch of Highway 47/Souris Avenue North from Wellock Road to the north city limits is included. But in September, the ministry said some work would be completed this year, but other tasks, including resurfacing, would wait until 2027.
