SASKATOON, Sask. — A 20-year-old man is facing multiple charges after police say he fled from officers on the west side Friday night.
Saskatoon police officers responded shortly after 1 p.m., on Oct. 23 to a report of a stolen vehicle when they observed it in a parking lot in the 2500 block of 22nd Street West. The suspect initially complied with the officer’s direction to exit the vehicle, but then re-entered it and fled.
A tire deflation device was successfully used, bringing the vehicle to a stop in another parking lot on 22nd Street, near Avenue I North.
Police say the suspect was believed to be under the influence of an intoxicant. He was charged with theft of a vehicle, escaping lawful custody, evading police, refusing a breathalyzer, and breach of court-imposed conditions.
