CORONACH, Sask. — Coronach RCMP are investigating after receiving a report that a pickup truck impersonated police and attempted to conduct a traffic stop.
The investigation determined that around 7:30 p.m. on Oct. 23, a pickup truck was seen driving erratically on Highway 36, near the intersection with Highway 13. A driver reported seeing red and blue lights in the pickup truck’s front windshield. The driver pulled over onto the shoulder of Highway 36. The pickup truck did not stop and drove away at a high rate of speed.
The pickup truck is described as a white or light-grey coloured Ford F-150 with a crew cab. The driver was described as a male with short grey hair.
Coronach RCMP determined the pickup truck is not connected to any policing agencies or units operating in the area.
At this time, police have not located the pickup truck. Coronach RCMP continue to investigate.
Officers remind the public that it is illegal to impersonate police. If you think you are being followed by an imitation police vehicle, contact RCMP immediately. If you’ve pulled over for or encountered the pickup truck described above, please contact RCMP.
As this investigation continues, Coronach RCMP would like residents to remember that:
- The public can request identification from RCMP officers.
