REGINA, Sask. — The Saskatchewan Community Foundation is hosting the fourth annual CommUNITY for Women Breakfast fundraiser on Feb.2, at the Conexus Arts Centre from 7:30 to 10:30 a.m.
This year's theme, The Ties that Bind, celebrates the people and connections that bring us together and the importance of strengthening those ties, foundation organizers say. From friends and family to community organizations, supporters and neighbours, every connection can make a difference, the organization says.
The event features an “elegant breakfast” and inspiring stories, including those of guest speaker Hazel Mae, Canadian sports commentator for Sportsnet.
This event raises money for the Emergent Women and Children's Fund, which provides urgent help to those facing family and intimate partner violence. With Saskatchewan's rates of domestic violence over double the national average, the need to act together has never been greater, the foundation says.
Tickets are $2,000 for table tickets (seven seats), $1,000 for half-table tickets (three seats) and $275 for individual tickets
