ONION LAKE, Sask. — A 35-year-old woman faces additional drug trafficking charges after RCMP seized methamphetamine, cocaine, cash and weapons during a traffic stop and a search of a home on Onion Lake.
The investigation started on Oct. 29 at approximately 3:30 a.m. when Onion Lake RCMP conducted a proactive traffic stop on the First Nation. Officers say they determined the driver, and only person in the vehicle, was breaching court-ordered conditions tied to a drug trafficking investigation in August. Raven Heathen was arrested at the scene.
A search of the vehicle she was driving turned up 28 grams of methamphetamine, a small amount of cocaine, and drug trafficking paraphernalia.
Later that same day, as part of the ongoing investigation, Onion Lake RCMP executed a search warrant at a residence on Onion Lake Cree Nation. There, officers seized an additional 400 grams of methamphetamine, 60 grams of cocaine, a sum of cash, two airguns, a knife, and further drug trafficking paraphernalia.
In total, police seized about 428 grams of methamphetamine and roughly 60 grams of cocaine at the traffic stop and home.
Heathen, from Onion Lake, was charged with failing to comply with release order conditions, possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, possession of methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking, and possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking.
From the August traffic stop, Heathen, and Aaron Chief, were charged with four counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking, and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose. In that incident, police seized approximately 89 grams of methamphetamine, 45 grams of cocaine, 11 narcotic tablets, drug trafficking paraphernalia, a sum of cash, and a machete.

Both Heathen and Chief appeared in Lloydminster Provincial Court on Nov. 4.
