RED EARTH CREE NATION – Carrot River RCMP are investigating a shooting on Red Earth Cree Nation.
On March 3 at approximately 2:20 p.m., Carrot River RCMP received a report of a shooting on Red Earth Cree Nation.
Officers immediately responded and located a man with injuries consistent with a gunshot wound. He was taken to the hospital. His injuries were described as non-life-threatening in nature.
The investigation determined a vehicle, described as a grey Chevrolet Impala, approached the victim. A firearm was discharged, injuring him.
It’s believed there were two individuals in the vehicle, which fled the scene of the shooting.
Carrot River RCMP are actively working to locate the suspects. Updates will be provided when possible. If an imminent risk to public safety is identified, police say they will notify the public.
