ESTEVAN — The Estevan Police Service (EPS) says a motorist was arrested and charged for driving while well over the legal alcohol limit.
The EPS says it received a report of a possible impaired driver during the March 9 night shift. Members located the vehicle and observed the driver was “grossly intoxicated”.
He was arrested for impaired driving and transported to the police station, where the EPS says he provided samples of his breath that showed his blood alcohol content was four times over the legal limit.
The driver was lodged in cells, and will be charged with impaired driving offences and released once sober.
Meanwhile, the EPS said members arrested a 17-year-old for uttering threats during a disturbance that police responded to the preceding night shift. He was charged and released on conditions, and will appear in court at a later date to speak to the charge.
The EPS is conducting an investigation into a mischief to property which the EPS says appears to include an element of criminal harassment. The matter is still under investigation.
Members received a report of a man panhandling at a local business. Members attended to the area but the individual had already left in a vehicle.

An erratic driver was reported on Highway 39 west of the city. Members patrolled the area but were unable to locate a vehicle matching the description provided.
